The Lyric Theatre Singers’ are excited to announce that their highly anticipated Christmas concerts are coming to Concordia’s beautiful Loyola Chapel. Three performances of A Candlelight Christmas will be presented on December 5, 6 and 7 at the University’s multi-faith chapel located on Loyola Campus.
Musical directors Bob Bachelor and Chris Barillaro have put together an eclectic and entertaining repertoire perfectly suited to the Singers. “Similar to the Broadway repertoire we offer in June, we opted to present a wide range of musical styles. In this case, audiences will hear Traditional, Jazz, Latin, Classical and Contemporary arrangements, in both French and English” says Barillaro. “This collection of songs plays to the Singers’ strength as performers and musicians.”
Speaking of musicians, a Lyric Christmas concert would not be complete without the talents of instrumentalists Sheila Hannigan (Cello), Tim Malloch (Flute) and Olga Gross (Harp) who will join forces with Linda LaRoche (Piano) and Chris Barillaro (Percussion, keyboard) to serve up a festive concert to kick-off the Holiday season in style!
The Chapel’s architecture, featuring large stained glass windows and warm wood finishes throughout, provides the perfect setting and outstanding acoustics for the Singers’ heartwarming Holiday concert. “A new space also gives us the chance to change things up a little” confides founder Bachelor. “The Chapel has inspired us and we intend to take full advantage of everything it has to offer to ensure audiences have a great musical experience.”
