We sincerely hope you will join us when the Lyric Theatre Singers return to Concordia’s beautiful Loyola Chapel to present their highly anticipated Christmas concerts. Four performances of Candlelight Christmas 2016 will take place December 1st to 3rd at the university’s beautiful multi-faith chapel.
Musical director Bob Bachelor has put together a very special selection of songs covering a wide range of musical styles ideally suited to kick off the holiday season and fill everyone’s heart with the true spirit of Christmas. Bob has also called upon some of Montreal’s most talented musicians to join us: Benjamin Kwong (Piano), Élisabeth Giroux (Cello), Tim Malloch (Flute), Robin Best (Harp) and Peter Colantonio (Percussion and Keyboard) will be on hand to serve up a festive and heartwarming musical feast!
A Very Special Evening! Our December 1st performance will feature special guests The English Montreal School Board Chorale Youth Choir under the direction of Patricia Abbott. This renowned ensemble, made up of students grades 6 through Secondary V, is a winner of numerous awards at the Montreal ARCIM Choral Festival and has twice been a national finalist in the CBC Competition for Amateur Choirs. The EMSB Chorale has toured throughout Canada, in the United States, and in Europe. These talented young performers will present selections from their Christmas repertoire as well as perform a few songs with the Lyric Theatre Singers. This one-night-only musical collaboration promises to be heartwarming and very memorable!
