“Pay It Forward” Fundraising Concert, Vanier College – November 12th

The Lyric Theatre Singers will be one of several performers appearing at a special fundraising concert to benefit the Vanier College Musical Instrument Fund. Concert producer and Lyric Singers member, Greg MacIntosh, provides some background:

“It was 35 years ago that I started my studies at Vanier College on the road to becoming a professional musician, percussionist and classical marimbist.  Vanier gave me wings and was an incredible experience. I played in the Band and Percussion Ensembles, and sang with the Chamber Singers which is why I wanted this concert to be a celebration of all of those things. I have raised many thousands of dollars for charity with my marimba and wanted to continue that tradition. The Vanier College Musical Instrument Fund is a perfect match.” MacIntosh has another amazing gift to offer “30 years ago, one of my teachers gave me a marimba worth about $8,000!  It changed me, my life and my philosophy of life, as well.  It is time to PAY FORWARD this wonderful gift to a deserving young musician – Catherine Varvaro – a recent graduate of Vanier!  Catherine’s story is somewhat similar to mine, and she will benefit enormously, as I did, from this generous opportunity. Life comes full circle!”
