CURTAINS 2012

Lyric Returns to Book Show Roots with Brilliant Results!

It might have taken 15 years, but it was certainly well worth the wait. For the first time since Company in 1997, Lyric staged a full length book musical! CURTAINS, directed by Bob Bachelor, and presented at the DB Clarke Theatre in June 2012, is an hilarious whodunit that entertained and delighted audiences and critics alike! Producing a show of this magnitude necessitates the dedication and involvement of dozens and dozens of people! Click here to see who made CURTAINS such a success!

Here is what some members of the media had to say:

… Choreographer Mary Sarli managed to have all these talents leap, prance, step and dance in an impressive kaleidoscope of movement. Director Bob Bachelor continues his proven record of integrating the many pieces and gestures that complicate a production, let alone a musical. …The 12 person live orchestra gives this entertaining show a Broadway experience that matches many a Manhattan version…

… Curtains features an enormous cast, and fortunately there is not a weak link to be found among them. In fact, the show is strongest when the entire cast is onstage, particularly with their strong choral rendition of “The Woman’s Dead,” and their neatly choreographed performance of “He Did It.” The cast and crew have done well at keeping everything tight and looking good. – Christopher Lane, The Charlebois Post
